Group history

History

The Gravotech Group was created in 2008 following the merger of Gravograph, Technifor and Vision Numeric.
The history of these companies is the foundation of Gravotech.

Key dates in Gravotech's history:

1938

Creation of New Hermes in the United States; the manufacturer of the pantograph engraver, the first portable engraving machine in the United States

1950

New Hermes moves to Europe and becomes Gravograph

1970

Creation of the first engraving materials

1981

Creation of Technifor in France, a manufacturer of industrial marking machines

1982

Introduction of computer control

1985 / 1986

Technifor invents dot peen marking

1988

Creation of Vision Numeric, a developer of Type3 CADCAM design software

1989

Gravograph acquires New Hermes (US branch) and is listed on the Stock Exchange

1995

Introduction of laser engraving

1999

1st ISO 9001 certification for Technifor

2000

1st CO2 laser marking table (Gantry)

2000-2003

Castle Harlan and Management acquire Gravograph New Hermes in 2000 and Technifor in 2003

2006

Expansion to Shanghai

2007

Introduction of the fiber laser

2007-2008

LBO France and Management acquires Gravograph-Technifor then Vision Numeric. Creation of the Gravotech group

2010-2011

Development of the retail branch under the Propen brand

2011

Establishment of the headquarters in Rillieux-la-Pape (in the Lyon region, France)

2012

1st CO2 galvo laser marking

2013

1st portable touch screen dot peen machine

2014

Introduction of the green laser
